The Bins Were Already There

Sometimes the clutter wins not because you don’t have enough storage — but because nothing has a clear enough home to actually stay put.

That was the situation here. A sweet kid’s room full of toys, books, and stuffed animals she loved. Baskets and bins already in the room. Two closets with real potential. A family that tidied regularly and still couldn’t keep up. The problem wasn’t effort. It wasn’t supplies. It was that nothing had a specific enough place.

That’s when they called us.

We started by pulling everything out and sorting through it together — what still gets played with, what she’d grown out of, what was just taking up space and making the room feel heavier than it needed to. Once the room held only what belonged there, the categories became obvious. Each closet got its own job: one for everyday clothes with labeled pull-out drawers for tops, bottoms, and jammies; the other for dresses and special items, with wicker baskets up top for accessories and bags. Books found a dedicated shelf. Toys went back to the spots that made sense for how she actually plays.

No shopping trip. No haul of new containers. Just the same room, edited and given a system that makes sense for how this family actually lives.
